New York Council Luncheon with Tourism Ireland

Andrew Coppel, Chairman of Tourism Ireland, was the Guest Speaker at a Council luncheon
in New York this past April. He discussed topics of great interest to Council members.
Indeed, there was much for him discuss with lots of recent news affecting IrelandÕs
tourism business: the heartening political developments in Northern Ireland; the
imminent implementation of an Open Skies agreement between America and Europe promising
liberalization of air travel between the United States and Ireland. His own agency
- Tourism Ireland, is itself a model for cooperation between both parts of Ireland
and has been a huge joint venture success.
The meeting was chaired by Kieran Claffey of PriceWaterhouse Coopers. Chairman Coppel
was introduced by Council Board Member Elizabeth Martin of Elizabeth Martin Fine
Art.
