Is Completely Free Trading between Europe and America a fantasy?

Robert Emmet Lighthizer is the United States Trade Representative and has responsibility for negotiating America’s trade deals with the rest of the world. He graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1973. He joined the firm of Covington and Burling in Washington, D.C. and left the firm in 1978 to serve as chief minority counsel and later staff director and chief of staff of the Senate Committee on Finance under Chairman Bob Dole. In 1983, he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as Deputy U.S. Trade Representative for President Ronald Reagan. In 1985, he joined the Washington office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP as a partner and led the firm's international trade group. He was confirmed as the Trump Administration’s U.S. Trade Representative in May 2017.

Dan Mulhall is Ireland’s Ambassador to the United States. He presented his credentials in the Oval Office to President Trump on September 8, 2017. Ambassador Mulhall was previously Ireland’s Ambassador in London, where he had served for four years. His previous postings include Germany, Malaysia and Belgium.

Arabella Bishop is Head of Sothebys in Ireland and has been with the company for over 19 years. She has a wealth of experience in the auction and private treaty markets and has handled many estate and collections sales. She is the most senior representative working for an international auction house in Ireland. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Art History in 1992.

Investing in Irish Art

Charlie Minter joined Sotheby’s in 2009. He has played a prominent role in the company’s Irish art auctions, developing expansive knowledge of the period and strong relationships with collectors in the market over this time. In 2015 he was promoted to Head of Irish Art, re-establishing a stand-alone Irish Art sale. He led the recent successful sale of The Burns Collection in London three months ago.
