Council Scholarship Awards

The Council's 2006 Student Work Experience Scholarships were presented at a luncheon
in New York City. The awards program provides opportunities to student undergraduates
from Irish Universities, in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, to
undertake travel to the United States and to work temporarily in American Corporations.
The students selected by their colleges as the Council's 2006 scholars are:

Jonathan Craig
|
Jonathan Craig is studying Business at Queens University Belfast and was assigned
to Allied Irish Bank in New York. He hails from Ballynahinch in County Down.

General Tim O'Connor and Council President Gibbons.

Jill Hanna
|
Jill Hanna is an undergraduate student of Chemistry at University College Cork and
reported for her assignment this year to Pfizer, Inc. in New York City. Jill resides
in Crosshaven, County Cork.

Christina Staunton
|
Christina Staunton is at University College Galway where she is studying Business.
This year she spent several months working at the New York City headquarters of
News Corporation. She lives in Knocknacarra, County Galway.

Hugh O'Neill
|
Hugh O'Neill is studying for a Bachelor of Commerce degree in the Quinn School of
Business at University College Dublin. He spent the summer months at Mutual of America.
He is a native Dubliner.
