2008 Golf Day in Ireland at the famed K Club
|
|
If you don't like the weather in Ireland, the saying goes, wait for five minutes
and it will change. For two years in a row, the patient people in Ireland have been
waiting for Summer weather. Well, it arrived just in time for the Council's golf
day when members and guests enjoyed blue skies and sunshine at the famous K Club
in Straffan, County Kildare on Friday, August 29.
Led by Ireland Chapter President Brian Goggin, the Ryder Cup course at this great
parkland golf venue was given a stiff challenge by the full-field gathering of Council
supporters. There were many prizes and lots of happy golfers at the post-golf proceedings
which included dinner.
This late-August event has become a popular date on the Council's calendar of events
in the Emerald Isle. It is an always-enjoyable occasion that attracts widespread
support from our members throughout Ireland.
