Education A Key Theme At Council's 2008 Winter Meeting in Florida
|
|
Education was a key theme of the Council's 2008 Winter Meeting held in Palm Beach,
Florida from February 13-15. We had two outstanding speakers - Ireland's Minister
for Education & Science, Mary Hanafin, TD and the Provost of Trinity College Dublin,
Dr. John Hegarty.
Dr. Hegarty spoke at the Council's Thursday luncheon gathering at the elegant oceanfront
Beach Club. Minister Hanafin's remarks were delivered to the closing night black-tie
dinner gathering at The Everglades Club hosted by Mike & Cynthia Gibbons.
This year's calendar also included golf at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club which was
well-attended and drew an enthusiastic group of sun-loving winter golfers who were
not disappointed in the weather, which was its usual, impeccable Florida best.
